Are you one of those who are a struggle with excessive sweat during the summer? If your answer is ‘yes,’ then you are at risk of suffering from the dehydration.
Dehydration can occur when your body loses a significant amount of fluids along with these essential salts and then some minerals. Don’t take it as lightly, it might even be associated with something more dangerous.
But during the summertime, dehydration is entirely different. Some essential tips can help you in preventing  dehydration while the heat is on:

1. Drink sufficient water:

No matter how much you avoid it, you are bound to lose some amount of the body fluids through sweating during summer seasons. So drinking of a high amount of adequate water is the first thing you need to keep in your mind to stay away from the dehydration. Some experts have been suggested to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water every day. But you must remember fluid requirement varies from person to person, which is mainly depending on factors like weight, height, physical activity, and the type of region.

2. Avoid diuretics:

Diuretics are some of the substances or in foods that can increase the production of urine in the body, which in turn results in loss of some fluids from the body. Popular diuretics that can include caffeine from containing beverages like coffee, chocolate, cola, etc.

3. Avoid spicy foods:

Apart from giving you that your facing other health problems like acidity and then heartburn, tasty food also contributes to loss of the body fluids by increasing the internal body temperature. But avoiding some delicious food for preventing sweating in the summer is debatable. Some experts can suggest it is good to have a tasty meal because it helps in reducing the gap between the internal and external temperature and gives a more refreshing feeling later on.

4. Eat food high in potassium:

Dehydration does not mean just loss of water. Along with the water, your body can lose a considerable amount of electrolytes which you will need to replenish. You need to eat potassium-rich foods, including pineapples, bananas, sweet potatoes, coconut water, and then mangoes.
5. Avoid excessive exertion:
Some amount of physical activity is no doubt, essential to stay fit. During summer it will be dangerous, especially if you do not keep for rehydrating yourself by taking water-breaks in between.

6. Stay indoors:

It was one of the best ways that help in preventing dehydration. Direct exposure to the sun, which naturally caused you to sweat more. So, avoid going out in the afternoon when the temperature reaches its peak.

7. Wear light, loose-fitting clothes:

Darker shades can tend to absorb more heat, causing to sweat more, while for tight-fitting clothes will prevent external cooldown, which is essential for your body to regulate temperature internally. So, choose lighter shades while going out in the sun. Wear loose-fitting pants, preferably cotton, etc.

8. Practice yoga:

Yoga is relaxing and can calm down the nerves that have excessive signal sweating due to an increase in the external temperature.

9. Say no to cigarettes and alcohol:

Cigarette smoke will dry up the lining of the throat and can cause the cells to become dehydrated. It also with brain signals that can induce thirst, so you do not feel like drinking water. Alcohol, on the other hand, is a diuretic. It can dehydrate the cells lining your throat and in the stomach. It also affects the liver cells and can lead to severe dehydration.
